In the event of a damage claim we act solely on behalf of the Policy Holder to achieve the best settlement possible under the insurance policy. Following notification of a claim, insurance Companies generally appoint Loss Adjusters to represent their interests. The Loss Adjuster fees are paid by the Insurance Company from whom they take instruction on the claim. Loss Adjusters do not prepare claims on behalf of Policy Holders, their job being to adjust the claim. Most individuals are unlikely to have the necessary knowledge or time to deal with an insurance claim effectively.

Loss Assessors are familiar with the procedures, rules and systems of the Insurance Industry and can ensure the best settlement is achieved under the policy. It is prudent and wise to appoint a Loss Assessor to process Insurance Claims and if you choose Tom Allen & Co., to represent you we will undertake the following on your behalf:

  • Survey and photograph the property/damage

  • Record details of all property damaged or lost

  • Advise on emergency and interim measures

  • Advise on your entitlements

  • Advise on notification of the claim to the insurance company (if not already notified)

  • Prepare a full Bill of Quantities detailing all costs

  • Meet the Loss Adjuster appointed by the Insurance Company

  • Submit full claim details to the Loss Adjuster

  • Negotiate the claim with the Loss Adjuster

  • Keep the Policy Holder informed at all times

  • Ensure the best possible settlement is achieved

Tom Allen & Co., aim to advise and support the Policy Holder throughout the claims process ensuring the claim is settled quickly and to the satisfaction of the insured.

Loss Assessors Fees & Terms

The initial consultation with Tom Allen & Co., is free and without obligation, fees charged thereafter by Tom Allen & Co., are based on a percentage of claim settlement achieved generally between 5% and 10% depending on the type of loss. Fees are discharged when payment arrives from your insurance company.

Tom Allen & Co Complaints Procedure

Tom Allen & Co., aim to provide a professional client centred service at all times. In the event of a client being unhappy with services provided the following is the company complaints procedure:

• The client should initially contact Tom Allen Principal by phone at 021 4355420 / 087 6492818 or by ‘e’ mail at giving a brief outline of their complaint

• Tom Allen Principal will acknowledge the complaint and try to resolve the matter with the client

• If the complaint is not resolved Tom Allen Principal will offer a mediation process to seek resolution of the matter

• If the mediation process fails, Tom Allen principal will brief the client on their right to escalate the matter to the Regulatory Bodies
